Fortress Cafe Transitions
Lean Rocket Lab will be taking over the downtown Fortress Cafe location. This change benefits both Fortress Cafe and Lean Rocket Lab, and ultimately, the entire community. This isn't a goodbye to Fortress Cafe - it's a chance for them to focus on their other locations and their farm.

For Lean Rocket Lab, this is an opportunity to expand our support for local businesses. We take our mission of empowering startups and small businesses very seriously, and this new cafe space will become an extension of that mission. We'll continue serving Fortress Coffee and Doughnation Bakery, so you can still enjoy your go-to coffee and treats.

Why is Fortress Cafe closing?
Fortress Cafe is handing over its downtown location to Lean Rocket Lab as part of a strategic decision to focus on other aspects of their business.
What can I expect from the new cafe?
A fresh brand concept, revamped food menu, and NEW exclusive perks. We have a lot in store and we're continuing to hammer out the details. BUT, we do know for a fact that the cafe will continue serving Fortress Coffee and DoughNation Bakery items.
What is the timeline for reopening?
The cafe area of the Lean Rocket Lab will close Saturday, October 12th for construction and remodeling, with plans to reopen by mid-November. Make sure to follow Lean Rocket Lab on Faccebook/Instagram for updates.
Is the Lean Rocket Lab closed?
No, the Lean Rocket Lab and the small businesses inside of the Lab will remain open to the public. You can access the building by walking around the side of the building to the side door next to the parking lot.
So you're competing with other small businesses?
The new cafe will fall under the Lean Rocket Lab non-profit and is aligned with our mission of supporting entrepreneurs in Jackson. We will continue serving Fortress Coffee and DoughNation Bakery items.

No, we are rearranging certain offices to make room for additional seating in the cafe.
